My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Christopher 5 yr old male "natural mink" Tonkinese

Many people are unfamiliar with the Tonkinese breed. Let me begin this bio with a nice quotation about the Tonkinese personality. from The Cat Fanciers' Association Breed Profile

"The colorful personality of the Tonkinese make them ideal companions. They will take possession of your lap and shoulder, and they will supervise your activities. They are warm and loving, highly intelligent, with an incredible memory and senses that are akin to radar. They are naturals at inventing and playing games, using favorite toys to play fetch, and delighting in games of tag with each other. Of course hide n seek is a favorite game, which they play with humans as well as other Tonks. They become your door greeter and will happily entertain your guests. They have been described by enthusiastic owners as part puppy (following their owner around the house), part monkey (their acrobatics are legend!), and can sound like an elephant running through your house when they choose. Their affectionate ways are impossible to ignore, and they quickly endear themselves to family and visitors. "

These are wonderful cats. Christopher arrived from a shelter. He was there due to a "Court Order" I am not sure what that means. Could it be probate court after a death? He arrived withdrawn and shy. Classic "shelter shock" we call it. But what did he go through before he was in the shelter? We gave him time to settle in while he was in his post shelter isolation for two weeks. He was polite but clearly not interested in us. I petted him and he tolerated me but wasn't into it. Suddenly one day there he was back again - an affectionate, outgoing, wonderful, little lovebug kitty. It was so sudden .Here I am back again. He is a really wonderful boy, lots of fun. So I looked him up on the Cat Fancy breed profile because I am not very familiar with his breed and he is just as they describe.

Tonks are also know to be muscular cats and he is that too, a very solid, strong cat. His fur is soft and sleek. Big round blue eyes.( headlight eyes ) Creamy body. Sea brown facial mask and feet. He is a pretty boy.

He is a lot of fun and will make someone a great lively intelligent companion. He would probably be ok with gentle children over 4 feet high. And maybe younger. He seems to be cat friendly; i don't know how he is with dogs.

He eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

Better photos soon.

His foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
