NEED TO BE RE-HOMED AS BONDED PAIR! ORIGINAL OWNER KILLED BY DRUNK DRIVER.
Dobbie and Bacon are a package deal. When we adopted them (we are their second owners), we promised to keep them together. We adopted them after their original owner passed away suddenly, after being hit by a drunk driver. She was an elderly lady who doted on them like they were her own children. (Her name was Ms. Sarah, and she practically helped raise our two children in our church since they were babies). After we prayed about it, we decided to honor her memory by taking in her two loved ones as family. We've had them for 2 years now, and love them so much.

Since we've owned them, we have had the unfortunate opportunity to get to know one of our neighbors in the worst way. She has blamed our dogs for damaging her fence and taken us to court for the fence SEVERAL times. The truth is (with pictures to prove it) the fence was an old, rotting fence already (since before the dogs lived with us). At this point, we honestly do not feel like the dogs are safe in their current environment, even though we have built a new fence. Our neighbor has been harassing, and even threatening, our family.

Please pray and consider making Dobbie and Bacon a part of your family too! They are precious, loving dogs, and we will miss them once they find new homes. But we feel like we must do what's in their best interest.

There is a screening and/or application process to adopt me and my adoption fee is a suggested donation to NINNA’S ROAD TO RESCUE, a 501c3 non-profit organization, of $30 so that they can continue their Adoption Assistance Program for area pets in need and to help assure I go to a good home. Also, be sure to keep me on a monthly heartworm preventive. Dogs get heartworms from mosquitoes and the only way to protect me is with a monthly preventive that you get from your vet!

If you need to re-home a pet and want your pet posted here and adoptapet.com, e-mail roadtorescue@bellsouth.net for more information on what we need to post your animal.

Please also consider donating to Ninna’s Road to Rescue. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization and your donation is tax deductible. All donations go towards our small dog breed facility and towards the continuance of our Adoption Assistance Program to assist pet owners in re-homing their pets. Please visit www.RoadtoRescueLA.org for donation information.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dobbie and Bacon, a Haughton German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Haughton, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Haughton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Haughton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Haughton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Haughton paves the way for another one to be saved.
