Vie's Story...
Foster Location: Boise, ID

Meet Miss Vie a stunningly beautiful 12 year old Maine Coon with a calico coat. Vie’s original family took her to the pound when they moved and she spent way too many months there. Such a sweet girl did not deserve not to have a family of her very own so she became part of the Fuzzy Pawz Rescue family.

Please don’t let Vie’s age scare you off! She is amazing and has a good long life in front of her.

When she first came to Fuzzy Pawz the first week of October she was terribly thin and didn’t have the strength to even jump up on the bed. A trip to the vet, a ton of blood work and other testing showed that nothing was physically wrong with her other than she was a bit emaciated and had lost most of her muscle mass. Over the next few days we figured out why – Vie is the pickiest eater ever; she would eat just enough to stay alive (less than a ¼ cup a day) – after 2 weeks Vie decided the only thing she would eat regularly (now eating ¾ - 1 cup a day) is Earthborn Primitive Feline. Never met a cat that wouldn’t eat chicken, tuna or salmon but there you go. Now that she is eating regularly she has gained back her muscle mass and is ready for a new home!

Vie is a funny girl who LOVES to be loved on. She will follow you around the house just in case you might want to pet her; she loves to lay either on your lap, next to you or at the very least within a few feet. Heck she is so friendly with everyone that she runs to the front door when someone knocks – she wants to be the first to say hi! Vie loves to be held like a baby and will lie that way for as long as you have the time.

She spends most of her time sleeping on her window seat or on the couch as a typical cat will do, but this girl also really likes to play! Give her balls of yarn or toys she can kick/chew on that are filled with cat nip and she’s all over it. You’d never guess that she is 12; she’s got a lot of spunk!

Vie has proven to be very smart and very respectful of the house. She learned her new name within 2 days, knows to come when you call her, she knows where to go when it’s “time for bed”. Vie does not get on counters, tables or other places she should not.

This girl can be a bit of a diva and would like to be the queen of your home she came from a home that had another cat and she is currently living with another cat; 90% of the time they get along fine. However she does pick fights and will stalk the other cat sometimes, she wants to be the one who sets the rules and boundaries. Luckily Vie doesn’t have any claws, does not bite when fighting and will walk away after about 3 seconds and be fine. We have not had Vie around dogs but I think that if they were bigger than her she would be fine, she is easy going and laid back and as long as they weren’t smaller than her she would be okay.

Vie comes with a clean bill of health, no aids, no leukemia, no cancer, no diabetes, no arthritis, no allergies; her heart, kidneys, liver and teeth are in great shape. She is spayed and has been declawed. The vet says she is healthy and fit enough she could easily live to be 20 or older, this is one hearty and healthy breed.

If you are looking for a cat that wants and needs to be loved and you want a cat that has a ton of love to give please consider giving Vie not just a place in your home but a place in your heart, you won’t regret it.

There is a $20 adoption fee for Vie, her medical testing has been covered by her foster parent.

Vie will also come with 2 bags of food.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Vie, a Boise Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Boise, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Boise.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Boise already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Boise breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Boise paves the way for another one to be saved.
