My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***Ruby is now safe in foster care, please stay tuned for updates***

Ruby is now safe in foster care. She will need someone with experience with training but it does not take long for her to catch on! Seems eager to please! Female, Rotti/Shep X, black and tan. Ruby is approx. 1yr old, spayed, current on vacc., micro chipped. Loves to play with a ball, will now sit and stay at leash length awaiting the ball to be thrown and she catches it every time. She now knows gentle when taking the ball from my hand and has learned the same with treats. Will come when called in an enclosed area. She has quickly learned to sit when asked and give her paw. If you hide a toy and tell her 'go find" she has amazing detecting/scent ability. She puts her nose to the ground and finds her ball no matter the distance. She seems to really enjoy water playing in every puddle.

Was said to be dog-aggressive and barrier aggressive at the Shelter. Brought her to the kennel...First dogs she was introduced to barked in her face and one licked her. No aggression. Also introduced her to a sweet young male GSD, no aggression. Brought her into Kennel, past four adolescent males barking like idiots. No aggression. Put her in kennel run, waited for barrier frustration - nothing.
She was turned out with 3 young adult dogs and engaged in normal play.
She does need training walking on leash. She is very strong and will pull but that has much improved working with her.
Ruby does appear more reactive to other dogs when on a leash.

Ruby gets along well with dogs when properly introduced, not tested yet with cats. She is a very happy, friendly girl, seems to love people contact. She will sound the alarm if startled but settles pretty well. Ruby is presently staying at Roverdale until her foster/home is available.
She is just a tiny bit unsettled in a car but calms down very quickly. Once after a very long drive she was car sick.
