Jake's Story...
Oh hello, I am Jake. I am a wonderful little man but I can be a bit protective of myself as we smaller dogs can be sometimes. I haven't really been around children and I would prefer to keep it that way. I can be very affectionate and playful once I am comfortable in my surroundings. I am kennel trained and I know how to behave in the house. I am an indoor dog and I will want to be inside with you. Outside is for "big" dogs. We terriers are hearty but heck I prefer the couch. Do you have a comfy one you are wanting to share? 6 years old-17lbs. My adoption fee is
$160 and includes; current shots, neuter, 5 week Training Class, free veterinary
exam (SE Portland/Milwaukie area) ,1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food
sample, toy & Treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jake, a Portland Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Portland, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
