Once in awhile a dog is surrendered to a shelter by its owner for truly unfortunate circumstances and it breaks everyone's heart: the owner's, the shelter director's and the dog's. That was Maggie's story, surrendered by a family who loved her so deeply yet fell on hard times that forced them to give her up. Maggie was so disoriented and confused at the shelter, she began to deteriorate in that stark environment. They found a wonderful, loving foster to take her in and Maggie has finally realized life is going to be alright again! She is an awesome girl and we can't imagine her owner's pain of letting her go. She is very obedient and has a quiet, calm personality. She is perfectly mannered - - content to lay on the kitchen floor or curl up in a dog bed. (And she definitely knows that a refrigerator holds yummy things!!) She gets along so well with the other dogs, the children and even visiting cats at her foster home. She is a very special girl who will be eternally grateful for a second chance. Maggie is about 1 1/2 - 2 years old, she weighs about 40 pounds and she is a very healthy girl.
