Skinny's Story...
This is Skinny (sibling to Birdie, who is also listed here). They are both tabbies but look like they have some Abyssinian. So did some of the other of 15 kitties they came in with. We were told "take them today (July4th) or we euthanize them tomorrow. (We were also told we would get a $1000 donation. Didn't see a penny of that.) All the kitties were sick. Skinny was, well, extremely skinny. They were pretty traumatized when they came in, but have turned out to be oh-so-sweet! They both love their 'loves' and crave affection. Skinny is a little shyer but is an awfully nice boy. Skinny and Birdie made the long trek across the state (a seven hour drive) to one of our adoption partners. Shortly after we were stunned when they called to say "Come and get them. They have ringworm." We did not think there was any way they could have ringworm but we went and got them. Another 7 hour drive for these poor kitties. We looked and looked and could find no ringworm and a week later we got an email from the partner shelter saying, "Sorry, the culture came back negative for ringworm." So, these sweet kitties have had a lot of traumatizing travel time to no avail. They so deserve their forever home. Could it be yours? They do not need to go into a home together, but they wouldn't object if you wanted to take them both. :O)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Skinny, a Colville Abyssinian cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Abyssinian for sale in Colville, or seeking a Abyssinian cat from a breeder in Colville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Colville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Colville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Abyssinian breeders who help with Abyssinian rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Colville paves the way for another one to be saved.
