Penii's Story...
If you are interested in viewing or adopting this kitty, please go to www.orphankittenrescue.com/adopt and fill out an application.

Pennii is a very affectionate kitty but needs gentle and patient trust building at first with all people who want her to become friendly with them. Initially she will be shy around any "upright," new people and loud noises. Hence, she likes it when at first you sit on the floor, hang out with her in the same room, and "bribe" her with food and healthy treats. This helps her realize that no one will grab her and that contact is on her terms initially. It will probably take about 3 days for her to come out and make first contact. After about 1 week she will most likely want to be petted all the time when you come in the room. She loves her scratch post and cat nip toys and/or any toy with feathers that she can play with for a long time. Once she is comfortable with her new environment, she will love fast chases after strings. She loves other cats and will try to play with them eventually, so it would be good if the other cat(s) of the household like cats and like playing with them too :) She also loves finding new, tricky places to hide, so not introducing her to all rooms at once may be a good idea in the beginning until she feels very comfortable with the people, cats and noises around her. Once she purrs a lot when you talk to her and likes being petted, she will then be ready to be picked up and held. Eventually, she will even like having her nails clipped...if it involves being petted :)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Penii, a Vancouver Domestic Mediumhair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Mediumhair for sale in Vancouver, or seeking a Domestic Mediumhair kitten from a breeder in Vancouver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vancouver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vancouver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vancouver paves the way for another one to be saved.
