Rocky's Story...
"Hello everyone....if you are looking for a very handsome, lovable, friendly and just an all- around wonderful dog...then look no further than my kennel. My name is ROCKY, and I'm a one-year-old Shepherd-Husky mix fellow who has a really great personality and a terrific smile. I love going for walks, and I love to bound around the play yard. You can be sure that I love hugs and tummy rubs, too. I'm a fun-loving boy who would be a great family pet. Also, I'd need a yard in my new home, and I'd do best with a daily walk or a trip to the dog park. I get along nicely with other dogs, but I shouldn't have cats in my new home. I have too much fun chasing them! I'm a young guy who is ready and willing to learn new things, although I already know some commands. I very much enjoy getting brushed, because I know that will keep my handsome black and tan coat looking its very best. Just want to share something with you and that is...when it is very quiet here at night at the shelter, that is a very special time for all the animals, because that is when we share our hopes and dreams with each other about finding a new forever home. A trip to our shelter would not be complete until we've had an opportunity to get to know each other, so just ask one of our kind Shelter Staff to introduce you to the incredibly lovable and oh so friendly fellow, whose name is ROCKY, and we may just discover that we are meant to be best friends forever. We've got great exercise yards here at the shelter; the perfect place to get acquainted with each other. You can bet that I'll be watching and waiting for you, and also listening for the sound of your footsteps as they get closer to my kennel, and then I will know for sure that you have come to meet me. Hope to see you soon. Love, Rocky" Kennel #2

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rocky, a El Cajon German Shepherd Dog/Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Husky for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Husky dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Husky breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
