My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Morris and Penelope are 5 year old Chihuahua-
Pomeranian mixes, and they are approx. 10 lbs each.
They are litter mates and have been together since
birth, they would not do well separately. They are
both fixed, up to date on their shots and have no
health issues. They have been micro-chipped, as
well.
They are very laid back for small breed dogs. They
do not bark much and are very calm, easy going and
loving. Morris loves to curl up on your lap and spend
time with you. He loves the attention and a good
neck scratching. Penelope (Penny) is a little more
independent. She loves to have a good tummy rub
or scratch behind the ears, but once she has had her
fill, she is happy to curl up on her own on the other
end of the couch. Morris is more social, where Penny prefers to avoid crowds or visitors (but loves the
attention of her owners!).
Both dogs are house trained and crate trained. They use a doggie door well, but don’t require one.
They spend nights and sometime during the day, when no one is home, in their crate, however they are
well-behaved and would not need to be crated. They attended “puppy training” when they were small,
so can follow simple commands, and are both very “treat” motivated, so could easily fine tune their
current skills and learn new ones if given the chance. They love short walks, but don’t demand them if
you aren’t able to get them out all the time.
Together, they would make great companions in an adult household, where they could be the center of
attention! Morris and Penny have lived with a third, younger dog, also a Chihuahua, so they have
shown that they are able to adjust well to other dogs in the family.
We are looking to rehome Morris and Penelope, as soon as possible, as we are relocating to Illinois, and
don’t feel that it’s fair to take them to a state with severe winter weather. They are very good dogs, and
would fit into most families, but would do best with a family that has no children. They would come
with plenty of supplies – Kennel, dog bed, sweaters, grooming supplies, leashes and collars, etc.
