Buster’s family moved away to a home that didn’t allow pets, dumping this poor sweet boy in a high kill pound after 6 loyal years of companionship. Buster’s time quickly ran out and he was slated to be euthanized. We are also heart broken to see that they have let him balloon to such a size. He is now safe and adored in a foster home.
From Buster’s foster mom: Oh My Goodness, what a ladies man! Buster seems to grab the girls attention where ever he goes, they can’t help but scoop his hefty body up in to their laps for a hug, you can tell by the big Beagle grin on his face that he just LOVES to get all the glory. This guy is just so sweet and so loveable, he’s always happy and gets along really well with everyone. He just goes about the day doing his thing and loving every moment. He always has a smile on his face and is happy to sit with anyone – absolutely anyone that will give him some attention.
Buster is very over weight and needs to slowly start dropping the pounds with a proper diet, he should be on a premium Low Calorie kibble or better yet a Raw Food/BARF diet (lots of info on the web!). NO SNACKS! He needs to slowly work up to a good work out routine. At the moment he is too heavy to just start jogging or running for an hour, he can build up to it though. He does love to get out and go for walks so it shouldn’t be hard to get this pudgy pants boy down to a normal weight. Buster’s foster family would be happy to discuss a suitable diet and work out plan with his new adopters.
Buster gets along very will with other dogs, he’d be super as a second dog! He is fine with cats and loves respectful children of any age. Buster is house trained and crate trained, he is likely fine given free roam of his home when left alone and he’d love to curl up on your bed…or a doggy bed at night. He loves to be with people and would fit in to pretty much any household. We’d love to find Buster a home with a fenced yard, Beagles just don’t like living in apartments with no outdoor space.
