Truffles's Story...
These two babies were rescued along with their brother and two sisters by two 4Paws volunteers after a nice man called them. We estimate that they were born around mid July.

Both kitties love to play - chasing and ambushing each other at high speed. The first time that they saw the big cat tree, they were up it in a flash. Now they love playing hard and going to sleep on the very tippy top of the tree. The two kittens have become very close. If one gets into something, the other is not far behind. They have also learned to drink out of the bathroom faucet.

Chester - Vivid orange tabby boy who purrs the minute you pick him up. He has never met a catnip toy that he didn't love. A little shier than his sister, he will need a day or two to get you know you.

Truffles - Gorgeous dilute Tortoiseshell girl who when she gets tired will go to sleep in your lap. She is the more outgoing of the two. She is a loving little huntress with her favorite toy being a feather wand. I think when she gets older, she will become a lap cat.

Both kitties have tested negative for FELV/FIV and are current on their vaccines. The two siblings get along great together, and would prefer that they are adopted together.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Truffles, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
