Hershey's Story...
Hi, I'm Hershey! I'm an 8-9 years young girl looking for a retirement home. I don't need much, just a soft bed and someone to rub my belly. I get along with other dogs, cats and kids. I love to give kisses! And I love the water! My first day in my foster home, I walked right into the pond and took a swim! My back legs are a little stiff, but that doesn't stop me. I love to go out and walk. I'm just not very fond of steps. I know how to sit, shake, and down! If you're looking for a sweet lovable companion to go for walks and hang out with, please go to www.seniordoghaven.org, click on the Adoption Process tab, and then click on the link for Adoption Application within the first paragraph. Questions can be directed to info@seniordoghaven.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hershey, a Wilmington Labrador Retriever/Chesapeake Bay Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Chesapeake Bay Retriever for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Chesapeake Bay Retriever dog from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Chesapeake Bay Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Chesapeake Bay Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
