Darla's Story...
Darla is a 1 1/2 - 2 year old lab/cattle dog mix who is one of the sweetest dogs we have in the pound. She is an excellent walk, is submissive and easily trained and handled. She has been taken to adoption events where she lays at her handlers feet and captures the heart of every person who walks by with her roll onto her back and her “pet me, tongue lolling grin.” An outstanding girl who is all love and kisses. She is great with other dogs and wants to play with all of them. She will weigh about 38 pounds.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Darla, a Brookville Labrador Retriever/Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Brookville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Brookville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brookville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brookville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brookville paves the way for another one to be saved.
