Hola!! I am Fai from Costa Rica! I am a one year old gorgeous black lab. I am a total lovebug! sweet and extremely friendly and smart. I still think that I am a puppy, and like to act silly sometimes.
I weigh about 40 pounds and I am super lean and healthy young female lab with a beautiful face with striking eyes.

Adopt a Street Dog From Costa Rica brought me to the Bay Area a few days ago to find my forever home. I cant wait to play in all the parks and be taken on walks on the beach with my new family.

I have all the vaccines and have been spayed, dewormed and checked by vets both in Costa Rica and in California to make sure I am medically sound. I am also microchipped.

My Story

I was rescued from the streets in the town of Heredia, in Costa Rica a month and a half ago by Rescate Animal, a rescue group that saves doggies just like me from a life on the streets. On Sept 29th I was living dangerously in the streets with my doggie buddies. I was also in heat and a bunch of dogs were chasing me and i was dodging cars and people by the university campus, finally exhausted from the ordeal i hid inside a box. Students from the university called Rescate volunteers and I was rescued and lived at the veterinary office there for about a month, where they spoiled me and cared for me. The Rescate Animal folks thought i would make an excellent pet in California so they helped me get my doggy passport and all the vaccines and sent me in a big plane to San Francisco.

I am in foster care in Berkeley and get along super with other dogs that live there, I love walking on the trails nearby and I don't pull and have been learning some commands in English, I come when called and also understand "venga" in Spanish which means "come here". I love people, and i am super sweet with kids. They say I could use some training, but I dont see that as a problem since I am smart and eager to please humans.
I love toys and bones, chewing stuff is great. I am not fully house trained, however i like to go on newspapers. Still learning about carpet and they are trying to convince me that carpet is not grass, but just a little more training and i will be a pro.
I have the Lab temperament, sweet and docile, very smart. I love and need excercise and walks and be in the great outdoors. They say that dogs that lived on the street are extremely grateful and loyal to their new owners. I love kissing and sometimes putting my paws on you to say thanks!!!

What Am I looking for?

I am looking for a sweet family or human that can give me a a good safe home. I want to be loved and cared for and in return i will bring lots of joy and love to your home. I would make a great companion!! My life didnt have a great start but I survived and I am ready to enjoy life at the fullest with my special family and make up for all the abandonment and danger i suffered on the streets in Costa Rica. I have been helped by many humans in Costa Rica and in the US, i am even sort of famous in their facebook page! I know I am meant for a special home! is that yours?

Contact me if you think we are a match! I cant wait to start my new life here in the US!
