ADOPTION FEE: $325

Fostered in Texas

Weight: 3 lbs.

Age: 5 years

11/16/12 - Jack went downhill today and the surgeon called for permission to place a tracheal stent in. This was the last option for him as he was not able to breathe on his own. This was done and he is in recovery now breathing well! Thank you to all of you for your donations and words of support..and the prayers for little Jack. Please continue keep little Jack in your thoughts and prayers.

11/15/12 - Jack London had surgery yesterday and now is having issues with his collapsed trachea. This could possibly be due to the tests prior and the intubation for surgery, or it could be due to the change in pressures in his body because he was left untreated for so long :( He is stable, but if he does not improve by tomorrow they may need to remove the rib splint which is really not what we want to happen as it will leave his ribs floating and his chest flail will remain. Please, please keep this little man in your thoughts and prayers.

11/13/12 - Meet Jack London, the new kid on the Texas block! Precious boy was turned over to us due to his medical issues. He suffered some kind of trauma previously leaving him with with fractured ribs on his right side and a dislocated hip. Whatever it was, a kick or a slammed door, it was traumatic and obviously left untreated.

This poor baby's chest flails due to the multiple rib fractures....you can see it in the video of him that is posted. He has moments of very noisy and labored breathing and is very restless at night. He walks with a limp.

Jack London was admitted to Texas A&M last night and is being evaluated today. He will definitely be needing surgery. They are hopeful that they can do a splint to repair his ribs ... it is an old injury so there is some concern. They also will be trying to stabilize his hip, but he may need to have a femoral head ostomy (FHO). They are doing a full workup on him today, including an ultrasound and also a scope because they suspect he also has a collapsed trachea and they want to know the degree of that prior to surgery.

Anything you can do to help will be so appreciated; and please, please keep Jack London in your thoughts and prayers.
