FOSTER LOCATION:
Meet Charlie an adorable female (yep her name is Charlie and she’s a girl), 1 year old Poodle mix who is full of energy and loves to play. Charlie’s people could no longer care for her so she came to the Fuzzy Pawz Rescue foster program while she waits for her new home.
At first meeting Charlie was very shy with her foster family, but she warmed up quickly. She really likes to play!!
She is pretty much house trained, she had one accident in the house the first night she was in her new foster home but has been good since. She does not appear to have a “potty cue” but waits to go out until you take her. Charlie is crate trained and will happily go in there if you are not home and will sleeps in her crate at night.
She does not appear to have ever been taught any commands, and she does not respond to her name, but you can get her attention if you whistle. With consistency and some training she will learn her name and much, much more.
Charlie was never given free-range of the house so she needs to learn how to be an indoor dog. But she has already learned the joys of cuddling on the couch. Charlie is currently staying with 1 small dog, 1 large dog and a cat; she gets along with the small dog and the cat but does not like the large dog in the home. She would be best in a home with only small dogs, or no dogs.
She was raised in a home with 3 little boys under the age of 7 so she is good with children. However being that she is only 4.5 lbs. and needs to be played with carefully, we will require that she go to a home with kids 10 or older.
Charlie’s only issue is that she is a little finicky when she eats. I found I had to place a few pieces of food on the ground, and then she would eat them. I also broke the pieces up so they were easier for her to chew. She would probably do best on a grain free, small kibble diet.
Charlie has been recently spayed and brought up to date on her vaccinations.
If you would like to meet Charlie please complete an adoption application with Fuzzy Pawz at http://www.fuzzypawzrescue.com/adoptionapplication.
There is a $150 adoption fee to cover the cost of Charlie’s spay and vaccinations.
Rescue Group Info...
We are a group of volunteers whose mission is to rescue and re-home abandoned, stray and neglected dogs throughout Southern Idaho. We work with many shelters and pounds that often find themselves with no room to spare.
Whenever possible we also assist dogs who, because of extenuating circumstances, are unable to remain in their homes with their owners.
We do not have a facility but depend on the use of foster homes to provide loving temporary homes for the dogs we save. You can meet each pet through it's contact information on it's posting.
