In May 2007, this cute guy was the popular dog with the Athens County Humane Society volunteers! When they sent the list of dogs who were scheduled to be euthanized, Hank was top of their list, and they pleaded for someone to rescue him. OPP quickly adopted Hank into a family with another dog and grandkids. Hank was not a good fit for this family because they did not know how to respect his space when he was eating or chewing on a bone. Some dogs donÂ’t mind if you mess with them, however, others like their spaceÂ…just like with people. When he was returned to OPP, he was significantly overweight, nails too long and clearly stressed. We were glad to get him back! Hank is a fun-loving, sweet dog. His half-tail makes his short body and beautiful brown coat even more adorable. He likes to sit in your lap and receive affection. Hank needs an adult household that will provide him the love and affection he desperately seeks AND allow him quiet time where he can enjoy a good bone without being bothered. And, though Hank is good with other dogs, he prefers to be the only dog-kid so he doesn't have to share. .... Hank deserves to be picky regarding his next home given all that he has been through... Older kids are best for this boy. Visit and read notes from Hank's friends - learn why the volunteers love this sweet boy!

About Our Pals Place

About Our Rescue Group...

Our Pal’s Place is an animal advocate organization with a pet adoption facility and education center, located in Marietta, Georgia. Our mission is to provide solutions that improve the future for animals. We also run a summer camp program teaching children the importance of spay & neuter and kindness to animals.

Our purpose is to rescue animals from euthanasia at local animal control shelters. When entering the shelter, we first meet the animals who are on "death row". If we believe we can find the animal a good home, we bring them into our organization. We provide safe housing, food, basic training, necessary rehabilitation and a lot of TLC! The animals receive full veterinarian care and are spay/neutered. Meanwhile, we work to find these homelss animals a "forever home".

Rescue and adoption is an important step to helping homeless animals, but will not resolve the overpopulation problem, eliminate animal cruelty or prevent dog fighting. For this reason, Our Pal's Place is dedicated to providing solutions to current animal welfare issues through our education center and community outreach programs. In a positive, fun environment we teach solutions and provide hands-on learning experiences for youth and adults.
