Bear's Story...
Meet Bear!

Bear was rescued from behind an apartment building where he was living and begging for food. At the same time, we also rescued a mom cat and her kittens. People in the building observed that Bear was her protector, watching out for the kittens and keeping the area very safe for them from other cats and wildlife.

Bear is a beautiful part-Persian. He has been estimated at about 10 years old. His fur is incredibly soft and he is quite happy for you to pet him for hours and hours. If you are looking for a snuggly, cuddly cat... you just found him. Bear loves to climb right up on you and purr himself to sleep. He is right there beside you in bed and has no problems being picked up for a hug and kiss.

He also loves to play. Even for a little older guy, he can zip around after a laser light or a little mouse just like a kitten. He gets along well with other cats and is currently living with a large dog that he does just fine with.

Bear had a broken tooth when he came in and we had it removed. He sometimes walks around with his one side of his lip higher than the other, and it just adds to his incredible cuteness. Bear also has one weepy eye. We have had this checked out numerous times at the vet, and although it is much better, we realize that his eye is the way it is. A quick wipe here and there with a tissue does the trick. This is something to watch for the future. It has only improved since he has been inside with good food and we suspect it will not cause any long term problems.

Bear is a larger cat but not overweight. He has long fur and LOVES to be brushed. He needs some help keeping all his gorgeous fur soft and tangle-free, and he will not complain at all about being brushed. His health is excellent and he is being fed good quality dry cat food that helps to keep him active and feeling good.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bear, a Toronto Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Toronto, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Toronto.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Toronto already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Toronto breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Toronto paves the way for another one to be saved.
