About Our Rescue Group...
I became involved in animal rescue because of the overwhelming number of stray animals I observe in less affluent areas of Southern California. I do what I do because I enjoy connecting all the dots - full circle - in terms of rescuing dogs, getting them cleaned up, treated medically and then adopted. We are a small rescue group with half-a dozen volunteers and could certainly use more help administratively from individuals with computers, digital cameras and marketing skills. 2011 will be our second year with over 200 dog adoptions. Would love to have more assistance.

Come Meet Our Pets...
Adoption events are generally held every other Saturday at Petsmart in Yorba Linda (Savi Ranch) 5521 Mirage Street from noon to 4 pm. To confirm we will be holding an adoption event, call Lydia at 714-241-9765.
Our Adoption Process...
We do not have a facility. Our dogs are in foster homes with volunteers. All prospective adopters must complete and adoption application. Upon receipt and review (almost always within 24 hours) a mutually agreeable appointment date, time and place will be scheduled. Prospective adopters must be receptive to a home check, sign an adoption contract and provide an adoption donation sufficient to cover the cost of spay/neuter, vaccinations and a microchip. The adoption fee for young or adult dogs is generally $225 - $275. The adoption fee for puppies varies from $325 to $425. The adoption fee always includes the cost of spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper/Parvo & Bordetella), De-worming and Fecal Testing.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pebbles, a Santa Ana Chihuahua/Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog for sale in Santa Ana, or seeking a Chihuahua/Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog from a breeder in Santa Ana.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Santa Ana already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Santa Ana breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog breeders who help with Chihuahua/Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Santa Ana paves the way for another one to be saved.
