Dunkin's Story...
Dunkin(aka Cha Chi for vet records) is approx 14 weeks old. He is one of a litter of five that we pulled out of a high kill shelter. He has a beautiful tan white chest and paw and will make a wonderful friend! He has very light eyes with a tint of green that will make your heart melt. He loves to snuggle up on the couch with his foster siblings and foster mom and has the sweetest disposition. He loves everyone he meets and is doing amazing with training and housebreaking. If you are interested in Duncan, please fill out our online application. We cannot respond to individual emails. Thank you.

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
Welcome Friends! The Animal Center ("The Center") is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping animals. Our goal is to help end companion animal homelessness and prevent cruelty to animals in Newtown and the broader Connecticut community by providing services that foster the bond between humans and animals. We also pull many dogs from high kill shelters in Georgia. We are a foster only organization so in order to visit any dog, an appointment must be made.
Our Adoption Process...
The Animal Center runs its rescue programs entirely through a volunteer foster network. We do not have a shelter. This means we don't have a central location where all our adoptable animals are kept, nor do we have viewing "hours" because our adoptable animals are in the safety and comfort of private homes, not in a shelter facility.

To adopt, please fill out our adoption form on the website for the animal you're interested in. When we receive your form, our volunteers will contact you to set up a day and time that works for you to meet the cat or dog you're interested in.

Adoption Includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, microchipping and deworming. Adoption fee varies dog to dog staring around $250 for an adult dog and $350 for a puppy.

We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dunkin, a Newtown Vizsla puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Vizsla for sale in Newtown, or seeking a Vizsla puppy from a breeder in Newtown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newtown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newtown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Vizsla breeders who help with Vizsla rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newtown paves the way for another one to be saved.
