Rufus's Story...
My adoption fee is only $75! Woof! My name is Rufus. I am a sweet 3-year-old terrier who needs a gentle and understanding home with children ages 10 and up. I am social but I get nervous sometimes so I would love a family that could love me and help me build my confidence. I would love to meet you, come see me at the shelter and consider adopting me today! I would make a great family pet (provided the children in the family are at least 10 years of age).

All shelter pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped upon adoption. Dogs adopted to residents of Chula Vista will also receive a free one-year license.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rufus, a Chula Vista Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in Chula Vista, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in Chula Vista.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chula Vista already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chula Vista breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chula Vista paves the way for another one to be saved.
