Gorgeous sheperd mix for adoption!!!

NELLIE NEEDS A FOSTER or better yet, a FOREVER HOME!!!

If you are viewing Nellie's bio on petfinder, please click below for more information!

Name: Nellie    Breed: Sheperd mix

Approximate Age: 1-2

Approximate Weight: 52 lbs

Currently Living at: Shelter, but in need of a loving foster home!

Meet Nellie, a gorgeous 52 lb sheperd mix who we believe to be between 1 and 2 years old.  Nellie is well-mannered and friendly towards her fellow canine friends, but has not yet been introduced to cats.  A lucky dog volunteer will be happy to test that out for you if you have one at home!

Nellie is in search of her forever home, that place she will be loved unconditonally and given the life that she very much deserves.  Nellie has had a rough life and needs to know that everything is ok.  As a result, she gets fairly stressed in new situations and needs an adopter who can take the extra time to keep her safe in her new forever home. Because Nellie is such a shy pup, she will need a home with a second dog to give her confidence and set an example for her to follow. Because children can be scary to our shy dogs like Nellie, we do not think she should go to a family with children.

Once this pretty girl settles in, she would be thrilled to go on nice long walks, play around with the tennis ball, and most importantly, cuddle with you at the end of a busy day!  Do you think you can give Nellie the best holiday gift ever, a loving forever home?!

Like most shelter dogs, Nellie may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained.

The adoption fee for this dog is $300, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our
Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Joanne Heller at Joanneluckydog@gmail.com.!

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a group of highly motivated and highly dedicated volunteers. We spend countless hours making sure that wonderful dogs find loving forever homes. We don't do it for money -- we do it for the joy a dog can bring to its new family; we do it for our love of animals; and we do it to save lives!
Come Meet Our Pets...
Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.
Our Adoption Process...
The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
Lucky Dog Animal Rescue rescues homeless and abandoned dogs from high-kill shelters, owners who can no longer care for them, and other high-risk situations. Lucky Dog works with dedicated volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and kennels to provide loving temporary care while we find well-matched, carefully screened forever homes for each dog we take in. We also serve as a support group to our adopters and all dog owners by providing ongoing education and resources for the well-being of their dogs, including the importance of proactive spay/neuter policies, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.
