Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My name is Gina and I am a very nice, 4 year old, chocolate merle, cocker spaniel girl. I was picked up as a stray by animal control quite a distance away from this rescue and taken to a shelter. I came in with a very overgrown coat and badly matted with tiny sticks, some of which had punctured my skin. I am a friendly, loving, outgoing girl, so why my owner never came looking for me, I just don't know. When no one showed up, I was taken to the groomer and it took about 3 hours to shave me down to a shorter coat. Then the nice shelter staff found that I was heartworm positive and could not be adopted out. They contacted CCR for help and a nice volunteer came to get me and I really liked her alot. She gave me love and attention and I really felt like someone cared about me. Then she brought me here to rescue, where I am safe until I can find a good home. It took a little time but CCR was able to raise the money to get my heartworm treatment done and they found out after I got here, that I was already spayed.
I'm a real sweetheart, friendly and easy going, with a "sparkling" personality and I will make someone very happy to adopt me. I walk pretty well on a leash, I enjoy being with my human companion, I ride well in the car and I love the doggie toybox. I do well with kids and I am very good around other dogs.
Thanks to these wonderful rescue folks, my heartworm treatment went well and I gotten through my recovery period with no complications. I am ready and eager to find a home and someone to love me. Being here in rescue is ok and I am being well cared for, but a home of my own would really be great. I would love it if someone would adopt me, buy me a bed of my own, maybe a few toys, and give me the attention and love that I truly deserve. I was probably once a very loved indoor cocker girl before coming here to rescue as I am a happy girl and I will make a wonderful "best friend" for someone who would love to have a wonderful, very sweet companion. I am a sweet, very playful cocker and I would enjoy going on walks, being played with and just spending time with you in the house while you are watching TV, cooking or doing laundry and chores. I am doing well with my foster Momma and she is working on getting me house trained. If I can be kept on a regular routine, I will do very well as your new indoor doggie and very special, favorite companion. Please come to see me so that you can see just how special I really am. I would love to meet you!
I have now been placed into a great foster home until I can be adopted. I am doing well and I am very happy and eager to find my new forever home. My foster momma is working with me on house training as I seem to have forgotten a few things if indeed I was kept in someone's home originally. Hopefully this will help me to be adopted real soon into the new forever home that I deserve.
