Here is what else his foster family had to say:
Sherlock is very well behaved and extremely quiet and calm in the home. He would be great in a family with children who would enjoy playing with him and a back yard to run around in. He would love another friendly dog in the home to play with or would be fine as an only pet. Sherlock loves to play, enjoys going for walks and likes to go for car rides. He would love being part of a family but would do just as well as a single's companion. He would make an excellent jogging partner and would enjoy get togethers with friends and other dogs.
Although it would appear that Sherlock has not had much in the way of formal training, he is very eager to please, learns quickly and overall is very well behaved in the home. He is good on leash, and quickly learning his basic commands. He would be a great candidate and would excel at obedience classes.
Sherlock is currently being fostered in an apartment but would do best in a home with a backyard to run around and play in. He would love to be part of a family and included in family outings. He is a very sweet boy with a wonderful disposition and is affectionate, fun-loving and a great all around family pet.
Sherlock is now completely house trained. As we live in an apartment he has learned to do his business in a fairly regular spot during walks. We do still crate him overnight and during the day he is sometimes in his crate for a few hours. Giving him his Kong with a cookie inside helps to keep him occupied.
Sherlock likes to chase a tennis ball around the apartment (he’d love to play fetch outdoors), play tug-of-war with his rope ball and will work towards getting that cookie out of his Kong for hours while in his crate.
Sherlock would do well where he was included as part of the family. He loves to be around people and would enjoy being allowed to sleep in his people's bedroom on a dog bed - he’s an extremely good sleeper with a very quiet but hilarious snore.
Overall, Sherlock is an extremely well-behaved dog. He has been surprisingly good and with continued care and training he will be totally safe to leave unattended in the home. He’ll be an extremely good pet for a family or for anyone who has the time to walk him fairly regularly or the space to let him run around a yard on his own. Looking after him so far has been an extremely enjoyable experience.
