Highway's Story...

This handsome boy is Highway.  He is approximately a 10-12 month old neutered male Shepherd/Husky mix.   Highway is a survivor in every sense of the word.   He was found injured on Hwy 22 in Livingston Parish and once examined by the vet it was determined that he had a broken hip.   He underwent major orthopedic surgery to repair his hip and his recovery of the next few months went well.  Highway is completely healed and doing great.  It appeared that he had been hit by a car which not only left him with the terrible hip injury but also a large case of road rash.   Highway has patches on his body where the fur has not grown back and may never.  Those scars do not hinder him but show what he has been through.   Highway is very friendly and affectionate and would make a wonderful family dog.   He has one gorgeous crystal blue eye and one brown eye.  He is also heartworm negative and on prevention.

Highway is up for adoption through Swampy Paws Canine Rescue and his adoption fee is $100 which includes age appropriate vaccinations, dewormer, flea/heartworm prevention, heartworm test, vet check and neuter.

A fenced yard and home visit are required to adopt Highway.
