Lucky's Story...
Lucky #330 is 4+/- lbs of charm and personality and is 2 ½ years old. He is housetrained, knows how to use a pet door and loves being outside when the weather is nice (a true Chi trait!) but his favorite place is laying in your lap. He is fine on his own and will find a comfy dog bed to sleep in but loves being with his people. He barks when other dogs encroach on his space but he gets along with them (larger or his size) and doesn't bother the cat (after being scolded a few times). He has not had a lot of contact with young children but has been around older kids and loves any attention he can get. Lucky bonds quickly and will follow you anywhere, however, he is a little leary of strangers and new dogs and may show minor aggression when someone comes into your home. Lucky would do well as an only dog but is ok with other pets once he gets to know them. Lucky is neutered, up-to-date on all his shots including rabies and has had a dental. Lucky came to us with an old hip fracture which has been surgically repaired and he is fit and ready to make someone a wonderful friend and companion. Lucky’s adoption fee is $250. Adoption Application and a Home Visit must be completed. For more information contact foster Mom near Burlington, WA at fayew911@yahoo.com or digsdogs@frontier.com

We do not do same day adoptions unless you are preapproved. Adoption application with references checked & a home visit are required. We do many special events during the year, so check our calendar on our website: www.chihuahuarescueandreferrals.com

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
We are a group of volunteers that take in unwanted, abandoned or homeless Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes. We take care of any Vet needs they may have and evaluate them as to temperament and likes and dislikes. We then match people to dogs and after completing our adoption process we send the dogs to their Forever Homes where they will be loved and valued as a family member.

We operate on donations and always have a need for things like leashes, harnesses, dishes, high quality dog food, beds, blankets and most importantly FOSTER HOMES!

***ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE***

We organized in 2005 and CR&R is registered as a non-profit charitable organization in Washington State & has Federal 501(c)(3) STATUS. We have successfully re-homed over 250 dogs!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucky, a Clear Lake Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Clear Lake, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Clear Lake.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Clear Lake already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Clear Lake breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Clear Lake paves the way for another one to be saved.
