Harper Lee's Story...
Pit Bull Terrier, female

Harper Lee - what's in a name but a meaning? The author Harper Lee wrote the book 'To Kill A Mockingbird' which is a story about prejudice and bias in small town America.

People will see a Pit Bull and move on to the next listing. I and a few others know better, that they are wonderful dogs.

In Harper's case she had a good home on big spread. She was left at a Vet's office because of a total ban on Pit Bulls. Her former owners moved and couldn't take her. Her life of four and half years will never be the same. However, with loving care and training they are wonderful pets just as any other breed.

I brought her home from the Vet's office and she has been nothing but a well-behaved, loving girl. Everyday she tells me about herself in the way she gets along with my pack of small and medium dogs that I have as pets and fosters. The cats I have she never touches or even growls at. Funny enough they sense they she is not even a threat!

Harper is never in our way, she has picked out a place in our living room away from the pack; that is her bed and comfort zone. You call her and she comes tail-wagging for her loving, and she returns to her place.

She came to us completely housetrained. She is up to date on vaccinations, spayed and micro-chipped. She is  a 5 1/2 year old, 60lbs. of beautiful Pit Bull. Her eyes light up when she sees a leash.

She likes small dogs and cats. She would do great in home maybe as the only dog or with a small dog and or cats.
