Apache's Story...
Apache is a very shy young male dachshund. He was picked up by animal control as a small puppy and has spent most of his life with little to no human contact. He has the capability to become a great companion but needs an owner who will be patient with him. Although he is shy, he gets excited when someone walks up to his kennel. Apache needs a quiet environment and would do great with an older couple or someone without chilldren. His adpotion fee is $30. If you are interested in adopting Apache, please call the Paws and Hooves Rescue foundation at (918) 696-5867.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Apache, a Stilwell Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Stilwell, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Stilwell.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Stilwell already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Stilwell breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Stilwell paves the way for another one to be saved.
