Meow! My name is Simon
|Breed:||Oriental||Color:||Orange Or Red||Age:||Young|
I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Simon and his brothers were born about the first week in October. He is a beautiful classic orange tabby with the look of the Oriental shorthair cat combining the siamese body type with the diversity of the tabby cat coat colors and patterns.
Playing in the bathtub, (without the water of course!) with a pingball is loads of fun for these delightful kittens. Nightime is a favorite snuggling time sleeping tightly next to you.
About a month ago, Simon developed Vestibular Disease, which is simply, his world isn't straight. So to compensate, he tilts his head, therefore righting his orientation. He is a fun kitten, plays, eats, and everything is norm, except that his world is slightly off kilter.
Anyone that takes a fast spin on a merry go round can appreciate vestibular disease in a cat. Cats have a remarkable ability to stalk, hunt, run, and land on their feet with ease. This is due to coordination of the primary sensor system maintaining balance and normal orientation relative to the earth's gravitational field. A disruption of this finely tuned nerve can lead to a loss of equilibrium.
Simon has been vet checked and no determination of cause could be found, so he has idiopathic vestibular. There is no known preventative since the cause is not known. This could clear over time or in the very least, have just the slightest head tilt.
