Nina's Story...
Nina's adoption fee is $350.

Hello there! I’m Nina. I’m a Shih Tzu and they think I’m about 6 years old. I’m spayed, micro chipped and up to date on vaccines. I do have a problem with one of my eyes, and the kind folks at Tiny Paws took me to see a specialist. The doc said that my eye had been injured and that I can’t see out of it. Not a problem; I see just fine out of my other eye, though I can startle if something comes at me from my blind side. My foster mom puts liquid tears in my eye a couple of times a day. Other than that, I’m in great health, and I just love to go for lots of walks.

I’m good with the other dogs in my foster home, though my foster mom says I can be a bit of a “Bossy Boots” – whatever that means! I don’t do well with cats at all – actually, they think that my eye injury might have been caused by a cat; no wonder I don’t like them! I sure do enjoy my meal times – eating is lots of fun and I even sing for my dinner. I love to curl up in the chair with you in the evening and snooze and watch TV. I’m pretty good with house training, but will make mistakes if I don’t get out often enough. I bark a bit if the other dogs do, but usually quiet down fairly quickly.

If you think I’m the gal for you, why not get in touch with Tiny Paws – it could be the start of a beautiful relationship!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nina, a Toronto Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Toronto, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Toronto.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Toronto already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Toronto breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Toronto paves the way for another one to be saved.
