We strive to place each of our foster pets into the most appropriate home possible. Since we are a network of foster homes, we get to know each of the animals and know what home would work best for the pet.
Pretty Joey looks so much better than these pictures indicate now. When he came to us from a local vet clinic he'd been brought in to be put-down due to a bad skin infection - that had not been properly treated by the owner. The clinic took him on and called the local rescue. This is a personable and talented little dog. He loves to dance for treats! Joey is known as a hairy-hairless. His soft unusually colored coat gets him a lot of attention. He is a sweet boy but like others of his breed, he can be a little possessive of his person. Joey has been learning to share with other K-9 pals in his foster home. He does well with the other dogs but doesn't really solicit K-9 company. We think he might do best as an only dog or with one other dog. Joey is going to be a loving companion for one lucky family. Stats: Chinese Crested - neutered male, current on specific vaccinations; parasite control, and micro-chipped. Weight: @ 15 lbs. Age: 5 yrs. old. Adoption fee: $175.00 Application REQUIRED. Find an online application at http://savingpetsoneatatime.org/adoption-info_270.html -- SPOT dogs may be seen the 1st Saturday of each month at the SPOT office - from 11am to 4pm. Or sooner by appointment - contact teresal@savingpetsoneatatime.org for more information on this dog.
All SPOT animals are spayed or neutered, received age appropriate vaccinations, parasite control, cats are tested for FeLV/FIV, microchipped which includes registration, a post adoption exam at a local vet, a 7-day in home trial, and discount coupons for food and supplies at a local pet store,

S.P.O.T. - Saving Pets One at a Time
The mission of our all-volunteer organization is to provide the Skagit Valley and the surrounding areas an alternative method of caring for and adopting out companion animals. We strive to provide an alternative adoption option without the fear of euthanizing healthy and adoptable pets.
Each pet receives daily one-on-one care and attention while in foster care. We work on training and socialization skills to help each pet be the best they can be. Pets do not leave foster care until we feel they are emotionally and physically ready to be placed into a permanent home.
Outreach booths:
Saturdays - PetCo - Mount Vernon 11 a - 3 p
All week - Petsmart - Burlington
4th weekend of each month - Petco - Bellingham - 11a - 3 p
