Meow! My name is Nala
|Breed:||Domestic Mediumhair||Color:||Brown Tabby||Age:||Young|
I am a special needs pet, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Nala is a 2 year old rescue cat. She came to LFRA as a very sick bottle baby of less then a week old, and she was, according to the vet, not expected to survive. Survive she did and beat all odds, but the effects of her early on illness are still visible. While her brother was adopted out over a year ago, Nala has had to remain behind as she fought off respiratory issue after respiratory issues. Her growth is slightly stunted and she will always be a smaller cat. At her adult healthy weight she still only weights in at 5 lbs. In addition to this she still is vulnerable to upper respiratory issues due weakened tissues in her sinus cavity. She will need a owner who is understanding of this and will still take the time to love her and devote to giving her the best of years of her life. This little one has been through so much and overcome so much she doesn't deserve less then that.
Rescue Group Info...
L.F.R.A. is a newly formed, small scale animal rescue/rehab. Our mission is to help crisis stray or unwanted animals who need time, therapy and care to recover to find their forever homes. All L.F.R.A. animals live in home (or on property if farm animal), and as part of the family during their recovery and rehabilitation. While many of L.F.R.A. cases involve bottle baby puppies and kittens, semi-feral to feral cats, injuries, deformities, handicaps to also do apply. Our goal is to provide quality care and lots of love to get the animals in our care well and able to enjoy full lives with their new forever families.
Being a owner of several special need pets, and working in our local shelter system. I have seen first hand that Special Need animals have long been overlooked in the shelter/rescue systems. They often require more effort and time to fully recuperate and many shelters/rescues merely do not have the time necessary to give to them. To often they are merely put down or discarded by previous owners who do not wish the burden. It was out of having a lifetime personal passion for working with such animals, patience, and willingness to offer them as much time as needed that L.F.R.A. was born.
L.F.R.A. is fully donation funded be it financial or supplies, and welcome sponsors who would consider funding for care and rehab of one or more fur babies in our care.
L.F.R.A. is pro -No Kill- though at times if we know there is no hope, and any further treatment options would merely promote and prolong suffering we will consider euthanasia. Our goal is -always- what is best for the animal in the end.
At this time L.F.R.A. does not have volunteers to work with the pets directly, but this is a future goal of ours. L.F.R.A. does however welcome any volunteers who might wish to help promote our pets ready for adoption, aid with donation drives, and educate public about the wonders of rehab/special need animals as loving family pets to various sources via the internet, social medias, or other means.
Due to all rehab/rescue animals L.F.R.A. takes in being kept in homes. All appointments to meet L.F.R.A. pets will need to be arranged ahead of time at this time. On occasion our felines are are spotlighted at Animal Ark, 2730 Brookedale, Kingwood Texas 77339.
Adoption cost on all pets is a set $100.00.
This cost includes: Spay/Neutering (on animals 6 months or older.), vaccinations, worming, microchip.
Potential adopters will be required to fill out an adoption form and contract. A copy of the contract can be viewed at:
L.F.R.A. reserves the right to inquire with your personal veterinarian on past pet owner care, and if feels situation deems it necessary to request a house check before placing a pet.
As L.F.R.A. staff is often busy it is not always possible for us to get to the phone or check our emails immediately. Please be patient with us and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Contact via email to LFRA@Live.com is usually quicker to get answered then phone, simply leave your name and phone number to call you back at and we will contact you asap.
