Meow! My name is Dutch
|Breed:||Domestic Longhair||Color:||Orange Or Red (Mostly)||Age:||Adult|
I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, and not good with kids.
Magnificent Dutch. With his gorgeous, long, orange coat and a face you want to kiss all over, all the female cats want to be with him, and the male cats want to be him. (Actually, some of the male cats want to be with him, too.)
As a kitten, Dutch was abandoned out in the cold with his siblings. He weathered most of the winter, but when it turned harsh, he was trapped and brought to the shelter. Given these beginnings, he didn't trust humans and wouldn't let people near him for his first couple of years here, yet has always been a great friend, mentor and playmate to his feline roommates who reside in our sunshine rooms with him. We've worked to socialize him more recently, and although he's still a bit leery of humans--he's one smart cookie--once you earn his trust, he can't help but give into the joys of petting and brushing, and even throws his head way back for rubs under his chin. This bright-eyed, curious youngster will be afraid and probably hissy at first in his new home, and it will take him some time to settle in. He's come a long way at the shelter, but needs the love and security of his own home to really blossom. He obviously longs to get in touch with his inner lap cat, and is just waiting for that special, patient person or family to finally bring him home.
