Pudge's Story...
Pudge is a purebred male Beagle. We think he is around 7 years of age. He came to us from the Austin City dog pound. Animal control officers in Austin picked him up being loose (most likely abandoned), and placed him into the dog pound. Pudge is already neutered and is current with vaccinations. We had him in to the Vet for a dental cleaning, and his teeth were cleaned, but none had to be pulled. His pre-surgical blood screen came back perfectly normal, so we think he’s in pretty good heatlh. He maybe could lose a couple pounds though. Pudge has never had a mess in his kennel pen while he’s been at our Shelter. He’s calm and easygoing. We know he’ll make someone very happy and he’s ready to hear about your day every evening when you come home from work. The adoption fee for Pudge is $75. We utilize a short adoption application form to assess compatibility between dogs and their prospective homes. This form is a simple one-sided Microsoft Word document and it can be e-mailed to you upon request. If you would like to receive the form via e-mail, or if you have any other questions, please send us an e-mail message

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pudge, a Austin Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Austin, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
