Suki's Story...
Please note that Tiny Paws will be taking a break from adoption processing from December 17, 2012 through January 4, 2013. The holiday season is a very busy time of year with lots of hustle and bustle that can add extra stress to a dog’s transition to a new home. We also would like to give our hardworking volunteers time to enjoy the holiday season with friends and family. Thank you for your understanding.

Suki's adoption fee is $350.

My name is Suki. I am a 4 year old female Shih tzu, and I weigh about 8 lbs. I am spayed and micro chipped and up to date with my vaccines. I am a good girl, happy and playful and love my cuddles. I am very easy to groom and brush. I am still having some accidents in the house, but my foster mom is trying to help me learn to wait and go outside. I am crate trained, and will wait till she comes home from work and go outside to pee. I like to play with the other dogs in the house; sometimes I get a little bossy, but I am learning to get along well with others. I was with another family once for a few days, and they said I had a little seizure. But I have not had any at the shelter or in my foster home. I feel pretty healthy and my blood work was fine. I would love to have a forever home that will cuddle me and love me - I am a good girl and would love to have my own family again. I think I would be happiest with a house that has a yard for me to go out to often and not have to wait for elevators or a long wait to go pee. Please consider me for your family; I would love to have a new home soon.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Suki, a Toronto Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Toronto, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Toronto.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Toronto already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Toronto breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Toronto paves the way for another one to be saved.
