Elvis's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Elvis's Story...
Elvis is quite the lady's hound dog, but don't worry! This lover-man would never mess up your blue suede shoes. He is great at being indoors and prefers to lounge around on the couch with his person. He isn't overly fond of the kennel but we are working on it! More of a fan of walking than your average basset, Elvis loves the sight of his leash! Elvis is heartworm positive but has been started on slow kill treatment. Won't you save him from Heartbreak Hotel!?!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elvis, a Baton Rouge Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Baton Rouge, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Baton Rouge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baton Rouge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baton Rouge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baton Rouge paves the way for another one to be saved.
