Darcy is an amazingly sweet and gentle one-and-a half-year old Shepherd mix. We think she is mixed with Boxer and possibly some Cattle Dog. She is a great size, weighing only 41 lbs. (she may gain a few more lbs. since she was thin upon rescue, but she falls in the 40-45 lb. range). She is very devoted to her person(s), very loving, and will follow you attentively. Darcy is friendly to all dogs, and also likes to play with dogs her size or larger. She is good with kids of all ages, being very submissive and gentle. Darcy always has a bit of a “worried look” in photos! She is a true sweetheart! Darcy is quick to learn, sits, fetches (does not always return), and is good on a leash. She is not destructive; she does not chew or dig. Darcy is crate-trained and potty trained (though potty reinforcement is needed in any new environment). She sleeps in her crate quietly throughout the night in her foster mom’s room. Darcy’s best fit seems to be in a home with access to a yard via a doggie door or open door. She enjoys being around her people, so we would like for her to go to a family or individuals where the people enjoy having their dog as a companion primarily to the humans first.
Darcy is spayed, fully vaccinated, including rabies, de-wormed, and micro-chipped. If you are interested in Darcy, please contact Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue at: adopt@angelsheartdogrescue.com. The phone number to the rescue is: 626-340-9316. There is no need to phone the rescue if you have not already submitted your interest first by way of e-mail. Please ensure that you have read the dog’s bio and have visited my website at: http://www.angelsheartdogrescue.com and gone to the Adoption Tab to read about the adoption process; thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Darcy, a Bellflower Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Boxer for sale in Bellflower, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Boxer dog from a breeder in Bellflower.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellflower already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellflower breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Boxer breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellflower paves the way for another one to be saved.
