Lucky Too, was rescued by a Good Samaritan who saw him wandering tired and hungry in her small quiet neighborhood. She looked for his owner, but when she didn’t find anyone who claimed him, she called the DARS hotline for help. This wonderful person committed to being Lucky Too’s foster since DARS was at capacity and didn’t have a foster home spot for even a puppy. In just a day or two, it became evident that Lucky was sick and needed vet care. His new caretaker drove Lucky Too to one of DARS’ vet partners where they discovered after testing, that he had Parvovirus, a highly contagious, often fatal disease that young puppies should always be vaccinated against. After this tiny little pup survived the effects of Parvo, even though he was terribly malnourished and had a compromised immune system, he was given the name Lucky Too.
Lucky is one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. He just adores people and soaks up affection like a sponge. He would be in your lap the majority of his time if it were possible. He loves to play with his people and all of the female dogs in his foster family! He's very loyal and loving, even though he doesn’t look like a typical cuddle bug lap dog.
Lucky has been a DARS foster for almost 3 years and is a volunteer favorite. None of us understand why someone hasn't scooped him up, but we also know that his true forever family is out there and will find him when the time is right - is it you?
Lucky Too is neutered and up to date on his shots, on heartworm preventative, is housetrained, good with kids, and good with cats.
If you would like to meet Lucky Too or get more information, please call 662.342.9448 or submit a pre-adoption application here: http://desotoanimalrescue.org/dog-adoption-application.html and someone will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you.
