Ziggy's Story...

Ziggy’s Foster Home is located in Middleburg, Fl

Ziggy is an adorable, plush coat (He will be when his fur grows back) He is a Bi/colored German Shepherd we estimate him to be between 1 or 2 years old. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, flea and tick prevention. Ziggy did test positive for heartworms and we are treating him via our slow kill method. He will need to stay on Liquid Ivermectin until his next heartworm test reads negative and we will provide his medications and explain treatment. He does not need to be confined or restricted during play time. Ziggy gets along well with all dogs, cats I don’t see a high prey drive with him, and would do best with older children because when excited Ziggy can become a bit mouthy and likes to play nip out of excitement, however his mouthy behavior can easily be re-directed with a ball or toy. He loves toys and socks. So please make sure all socks are put away.

Ziggy is a very special Rescue, so special that he has a huge following via our FB Rescue page. Whomever adopts this lucky boy will need to keep his FB following/friends updated with pictures from time to time. This request is non-negotiable.

This is Ziggy’s story: He was found wondering on 6 lanes of traffic when a kind samartin found Ziggy, stopped, scooped him up and found someone that works with Rescues. That person spread the word that Ziggy needed help, our Rescue was contacted and we immediately accepted Ziggy because he was very urgent. When Ziggy arrived, he was very badly matted and looked like he had dread locks so we named him after Ziggy Marley. This poor boy was so matted that I could not see how badly emaciated he was until we took him to the groomers. He literally was a walking skeleton but even though he was so thin, so weak, this boy always had a smile on his face. When I tell you he is special and truly a miracle words just can’t simply express how we all feel about him. Ziggy is not just a skinny dog found on the highway, he is an Inspiration to me and to all that know his story. He fought to stay alive, because he has so much life to give. So much Love to give. He is a miracle and I know my job of caretaker is not complete until Ziggy finds his loving, forever family. I know has a special family waiting to adopt him are you that family our sweet Ziggy is waiting for? If you feel Ziggy is meant to be in your life, and you can provide this amazing boy the home, and love he truly deserves. Please Email:luvgermansheps@yahoo.com

An application needs to be completed prior to a meet and greet. All dogs in rescue are temperament tested and have basic obedience implemented as a part of their daily routine. All behavioral issues are dealt with according to each case scenario. All dogs prior to going home are up to date on all vaccinations, neutered and or spayed, and microchipped.

Adoption fees range from $100 - $400 depending on age, degree of personalized training, and if proof of bloodlines can be provided.

Application, home-check, and references must be approved prior before final adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ziggy, a Green Cove Springs German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Green Cove Springs, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Green Cove Springs.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Green Cove Springs already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Green Cove Springs breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Green Cove Springs paves the way for another one to be saved.
