Freddy's Story...
Freddy was to be euthanized at our local shelter because he had Demodex. He has been treated and looks beautiful! He has gorgeous eyes and a personality to match. He is negative for heartworms and is ready to be adopted!

About Our Rescue Group...
The Laguna Madre Humane Society incorporated in 1994. We have a low cost spay/neuter/vaccination clinic, a pet food bank and a kennel where we treat heartworm positive dogs from the local animal shelter. These dogs would have been euthanized if we had not intervened and treated them.
We have two programs in place to transport animals from our shelters and rescue groups to Northern no-kill shelters that have more room for these friendly pets.
The Port Isabel shelter notifies us when they have too many animals and we take the dogs and cats that are on the 'list' and we find foster and permanent homes for them. We keep the Port Isabel shelter from being a kill shelter.
