About Our Rescue Group...
The Laguna Madre Humane Society incorporated in 1994. We have a low cost spay/neuter/vaccination clinic, a pet food bank and a kennel where we treat heartworm positive dogs from the local animal shelter. These dogs would have been euthanized if we had not intervened and treated them.
We have two programs in place to transport animals from our shelters and rescue groups to Northern no-kill shelters that have more room for these friendly pets.
The Port Isabel shelter notifies us when they have too many animals and we take the dogs and cats that are on the 'list' and we find foster and permanent homes for them. We keep the Port Isabel shelter from being a kill shelter.
Come Meet Our Pets...
We have a weekly adoption event Saturday, 11AM-2PM, at The Garden, 407 East Maxan in Port Isabel, Texas. We are active on Facebook/LagunaMadreHumaneSociety.
Our Adoption Process...
We do not charge adoption fees. We do have an adoption application and an adoption contract.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
We care for the animals of the Port Isabel shelter and all animals in need in the Laguna Madre area. We care for animals in the tip of Texas area from South Padre Island to McAllen and Harlingen.
