Tuffy's Story...
Meet Tuffy. Poor Tuffy and her 2 siblings were turned into a very high kill shelter in SE KY. Thankfully we pulled them in the nick of time. Tuffy is approx. 10 weeks old and only weighs about 2 lbs. Sweet little Tuffy is the runt of the litter. She may be little but she is mighty! She loves to play and snuggle on your lap for a nap. The whole litter was infested with parasites as well but they are now the picture of health and ready to go to their forever home. Tuffy has had 2 sets of vaccinations, a fecal exam, dewormer, and flea preventative.

Tuffy and all of her siblings will be adopted out with a mandatory spay/neuter contract stating that each pup will be spayed/neutered at 6 months of age (no exceptions!) and that our rescue will be provided with proof that this was completed. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tuffy, a Hazard Schnauzer (Miniature)/Shih Tzu puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Miniature)/Shih Tzu for sale in Hazard, or seeking a Schnauzer (Miniature)/Shih Tzu puppy from a breeder in Hazard.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hazard already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hazard breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Miniature)/Shih Tzu breeders who help with Schnauzer (Miniature)/Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hazard paves the way for another one to be saved.
