Oliver's Story...
Oliver is a majestic cat. Estimated to be about 3 yrs. young, he's a big boy, weighing in at about 14 lbs, with a lot of love to give. He's very gentle, craves attention (will flop on his side to show his belly hoping you'll rub it), and is simply irresitible ! This gentle, cuddly teddy bear of a cat, rubs, purrs, kneads, rolls over and looks you straight in the eyes with love. He will need some regular brushing to keep his coat from matting. As he recently came into our care, we don't yet know how he'd do with other pets. His elderly owner sadly had to give him up when she went into a nursing home and even included a note listing her beloved cat's "favorite" things when he was brought to a high kill shelter. She surely will be relieved to know he is safe until he finds his forever home. In addition to his other medical work , Oliver comes microchipped too. Meet him in Burke, VA.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oliver, a Arlington Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Arlington, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Arlington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Arlington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Arlington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Arlington paves the way for another one to be saved.
