I am already spayed, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with cats.

Rani's Story...
My name is Rani and I am a sweet, shy girl. I am looking for a forever home where I can relax and be myself. I need to find a companion who will be content to let me roam around the house and come to them when I'm ready for snuggling and affection. I get along well with my feline roommates, so if your family has feline members, we could probably get along just fine

Our Adoption Process:
- Complete a pre-adoption application. There is no obligation to adopt when filling out this application. It is a tool we use to help us determine the pet best suited for your household and lifestyle.
- Meet with an Adoption Counselor to go over the application and discuss the animal you are considering. If you have other pets in the household, they would be introduced to the pet you are considering at this point to assess compatibility.
- A vet check is done by our staff to confirm that all current and former pets are spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. If you are renting, a landlord check is also required to confirm that pets are permitted and if there are any pet type/breed/size/weight restrictions.
- If everything looks like a great fit, the adoption is nearly complete! Our adoption counselors will schedule a home visit, at which time the adopted pet has the potential to stay with you if all goes well.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rani, a Salem Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Salem, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
