Priscilla's Story...
Priscilla is a purebred Maltese. The vet estimates that she is 2 years old (estimated D.O.B. 11-22-10), and she weighs 6.3 pounds. She is a very playful, active little girl and likes to be close to people. We don’t know too much about her housetraining just yet, but she does sleep in a crate. Priscilla is up to date on her immunizations, heartworm negative and on preventative. She will be spayed on Tuesday, November 27, after which she will be ready for her new home. She will not be placed in a home with children under the age of 12 or with a dog weighing more than 20 pounds. Priscilla’s adoption donation is $250, and she is being fostered in Birmingham, Alabama. Priscilla’s best bud is Miles, who came into rescue with her. For anyone wishing to adopt them both, each adoption donation will be reduced by $25, for a total of $50 discount. We do approve out of state adoptions, but the adopter must be willing to drive to the foster home to “fetch” the new family member. We do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting this sweet baby, the first step is to submit an APPLICATION.

We do not place any dog in a home with "invisible" or underground fencing.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Priscilla, a Birmingham Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Birmingham, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Birmingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Birmingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Birmingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Birmingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
