Claire - Adoption Pending's Story...
Hello! My name is Claire and I'm from the Cheyenne River Sioux Indian Reservation in South Dakota. I am about 8 months old now but spent the first 6 months of my life tied to a tetherball post. Yeah, my first family was not a lot of fun and although they did bring me food and water I was bored and lonely most of the time. Except for an occasional doggie friend that dropped by and visited, and some local kids who played with me from time to time, I was all alone out there tied to that pole.

One day in the beginning of November, a nice doctor who worked at the nearby hospital noticed me and convinced my previous owners to let me go with him for a better life. Since the doctor was from Phoenix, Arizona he flew me on back with him, which I’m really happy about! Staying with a nice foster family has been way better than where I was. I’ve learned to be very comfortable being able to go in and out of the house through their doggie door, and I really love being around people all the time.

I'm very active and curious and LOVE to play with tennis balls and squeaky toys. I’m also good with children and other dogs, unless the other dogs come to my house. In that case, I'm naturally protective and have to make sure the dog is going to be nice to me and my owners first then I’m nice to the other dog.

I love to go on walks and I do very well on a leash, but I must admit, I do like to run off and explore when I'm not on the leash. I do well in dog parks too. I am learning how to sit, but I'll admit I don't know many commands because before the doctor rescued me, I did not have the chance to play much and nobody trained me. I am smart and would be a fast learner. I'm looking for a friendly, warm home. I can't wait to meet my new family!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Claire - Adoption Pending, a Phoenix Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
