Munch's Story...
Munch in a female Shih Tzu (could be purebred, but we're not sure). She is approximately 12-18 months old. She arrived at the shelter on October 1st, along with her three 4 day old puppies, after having been rescued from a neglectful neighbor.

Munch was a wonderful mother to her three puppies. She is a very sweet girl. Gets along great with other dogs, and loves attention from human.

Munch will be spayed and is up to date on her immunizations. If you would like to make Munch a part of your family, please contact Gail Ross at 870-431-8229, or via email at gailspets@hotmail.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Munch, a Oakland Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
