I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Dixie's Story...
Dixie was rescued from a high kill shelter in NC, she has been in foster for 3 months and is doing great. Ready for her forever home. She is housebroken, walks on leash (pulling some still when she is scenting, but improving daily), good with kids and gets along well with all dogs. She is not good with cats, and should not be placed in a home with cats. She is eager to please, rewards easily with treats and/or praise.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dixie, a Leesburg Treeing Walker Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Treeing Walker Coonhound for sale in Leesburg, or seeking a Treeing Walker Coonhound dog from a breeder in Leesburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Leesburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Leesburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Treeing Walker Coonhound breeders who help with Treeing Walker Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Leesburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
