Elmora's Story...
Elmora is a pretty girl who was rescued from a overcrowded cat situation in Elizabeth. During the TNR it was discovered that this pretty girl was looking for love. We took her in and got her completely vetted. FIV/FELV neg, fixed and shots. She is a sweetheart but the reason we say she needs someone experienced is because she needs to know she can trust you. She will hiss at first but she NEVER EVER bites or strikes. You pet her during her hissing and she turns into the most amazing mush. She head buts and comes back for more. She will even talk to you from time to time.
She lived with other cats so we know she can adjust. Just not sure how she'll do with a dog or very small children. If you are interested, please contact Julia at saracats.julia@gmail.com or 908 578 4354

About Our Rescue Group...
SARA Inc. is a animal rescue and placement organization. We are a 501c(3) organization, so your donations are tax deductible. We are comprised of devoted volunteers, some with over thirty years of experience. We have a Board of Trustees and Officers who have hands-on knowledge of how to run an effective and efficient animal rescue organization. We are all actively involved and committed to helping as many cats and dogs as we can!

Our focus is cats and kittens. SARA's priority is to get as many rescued animals placed in good and caring homes. One of our main objectives is population control so we also manage feral colonies with a spay/neuter program.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elmora, a Berkeley Hts Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Berkeley Hts, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Berkeley Hts.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley Hts already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley Hts breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley Hts paves the way for another one to be saved.
